iLight Festival in Singapore to Unveil Shining LED Sculptures

In 2011 we could witness the launch of the first sustainable iLight Festival in Asia. The event turned out to be extremely popular, which is why this year the Urban Redevelopment Company came up with the idea of recurring it.
In 2012 the iLight Marina Bay festival is themed "Light Meets Asia" and it will unveil a wide range of innovative lighting installations that make use of LEDs and other technologies from different companies, most of which are based in Asia.
The event will take place from March 9 to April 1 and its goal is to inform people about the importance of energy-efficient lighting. In addition, the festival is encouraging locals and guests to enjoy the works presented along an effervescent waterfront.
Initially there were 100 works from various Asian artists, out of which 30 were selected to be presented at the festival. All of these works will be assisted by Festival Director Mary-Anne Kyriakou, Charmaine Toh, a Singapore visual arts curator who will work together with the team from FARM, a local design studio.
